Think about winter!
Are the caretaker government and the political parties doing anything in preparation for the winter in Bangladesh? Hundreds if not thousands of people die each year as they do not have adequate clothing to fend off the winter cold. The irony is that Bangladesh is an exporter of garments i.e. clothes, yet its citizens die due to lack of it.
All the planning, preparation and expenses for elections are being done to satisfy high profile, wealthy and very obnoxious politicians. Yet, a fraction of the same resources could be put in use for the benefits of the poor who are vastly un-represented.
No matter how hotly the elections are contested this won't keep old men and women, and young babies warm.
