LDP men join BNP but to work for Daud

Our Correspondent, Khagrachhari
Around one thousand activists of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), including members of 101-member district committee, joined Khagrachhari district BNP yesterday. The LDP deserters led by Mohammad Abul Kashem will now work for rebel BNP candidate Daudul Islam Bhuiyan, who is contesting as independent candidate ignoring BNP central committee decision. Samiron Dewan, who is contesting in the constituency with nomination from BNP central committee, faces a great challenge due to the move, sources said. “The whole district committee is with Wadud's nephew Daudul Islam Bhuiyan as he is popular among grassroots level leaders,” district BNP Press Secretary Nazrul Islam said. Former Khagrachhari Hill District Council member Animesh Chakma Rinku said district BNP and newcomers are working for Daud to fulfil their own interest.
