Cold weather dampens campaign

Cold wave sweeping in the district for the last three days has dampened election campaign in six constituencies here. Attendance in the meetings organised by various candidates in different parts of the district was thin, said poll observers. Grand alliance candidate Asif Shahariar in Rangpur-1 constituency told this correspondent that due to cold weather they could not go to shoal areas adjoining to the Teesta. Awami League candidate in Rangpur-4 cosntiteuncy Tipu Munshi echoed in the same manner.
