Elect grand alliance to root out corruption

Ershad tells rallies

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad yesterday said there is no alternative to vote to power Awami League (AL)-led grand alliance to root out corruption from the country. The country was made a 'heaven of corruption' during the tenure of BNP-led government, he said. At several public meetings in different areas in Kurigram and Lalmonirhat districts, the former president said he will create job opportunities by developing mills and factories to mitigate monga, a near famine situation, that prevails in the area for months every year. In the meetings, Ershad made quite a few pledges including gas supply to Kurigram district and Rangpur region if voted to power.
