Victory rally in Rajshahi ignoring directive

Defying instructions from party high-ups, several hundred leaders, activists and supporters of grand alliance, joined by women, brought out a procession in the city Monday night after hearing landslide victory of the Awami League alliance. Earlier, hundreds of alliance leaders and activists started gathered at the city AL office for hear poll results. They blocked the road from Alupatti to Shaheb Bazar by squatting, waiting to head result. Rajshahi city AL collected results from different wards and announced those through loud speakers. As the AL activists brought out the procession defying requests by Fazle Hossain Badsha and City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzaman Liton Directed bt Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina, Liton requested them to hold their patience and not bring out any victory procession. During the procession, army and police were nearby but they did not intercept it.
