Biharis as voters

It is great to see the Biharis participating in the voting process. I would like to welcome them into the mainstream after such a long time. It has been overdue for a long time now. As we welcome them wholeheartedly they should also forget that they are anything else than people of this land, it does not matter whether they speak Urdu or not. Urdu is one of the languages of UP in India, mostly spoken by the Muslims. Pakistan adopted the language as its National Language, though it is not spoken in any of the regions of Pakistan. We are glad that the assimilation process has started as it happened with many other people that came to this region like Pathans, Turks, Afghans, Persians, Arabs and many more. It is inevitable that non-locals assimilate them into the mainstream over a period retaining some of their traits and enriching the culture of the land. Those that are born here are natural Bengalis with a foreign tongue. With their preferred language, they should also learn Bangla with equal enthusiasm as that is the best way to mingle into the mainstream, while retaining their preferred traits, if any.
