Banking sector
The excellent performances by the banking sector in Bangladesh are really laudable. No doubt the sectors create business friendly environment for the economy as well as heavy employment opportunities for the people looking for jobs. Lately, fresh graduates see banking career as their dream area, thanks to the banks offering lucrative salaries, albeit job seekers face competitive tests like the admission test of IBA for getting the job.
No matter how much difficulty the threshold candidates face to get the jobs, still it is a good practice, at least, to recruit skilled and qualified employees for the company. We really love to appreciate the recruitment process. But it is a matter of pity that a few banks follow discriminatory policies, like not allowing non-Muslim candidates to apply for a job.
The Bangladesh Bank, as the watchdog body, should look into the matter. After all, nobody should be discriminated against.
