Around 50 people were injured in an attack on Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men by Jubo Dal activists and consequent police action at Railway Colony in Mohonganj pourasava yesterday afternoon. As Jubo Dal activists Jamal, Kamal and Liton arranged gambling, several BCL activists including Mohonganj upazila BCL convenor Mojibar Rahman and joint convenor Salim asked them to stop it, said police and local people. Angered by the intervention, the gamblers attacked the BCL activists and injured five of them including Mojibar and Salim. Informed, police rushed to the spot and charged baton on the Jubo Dal men and their supporters, mostly residents of the colony. About 50 people were injured during the incident. Seriously injured Mojibar and Salim were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Police have been deployed to stave off any unwanted situation in the area. There are allegations that the Jubo Dal men have been running a gambling party in the Railway Colony area for a long time.
