Pabna University opening function postponed

The opening ceremony of Pabna University of Science and Technology at Rajapur village in Pabna Sadar upazila was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances yesterday, official sources said. Finance and Planning Adviser Dr AB Mirza Azizul Islam and Education Affairs Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman were expected to jointly inaugurate the university. However, its vice chancellor Dr Md Amin Uddin Mridha in a press release issued here yesterday said all other activities of the university including admission of students and recruiting of teachers will go on as per schedule. On contact, the VC said, "We are hopeful of starting academic activities of the university from this session.” Earlier, the university authorities informed that students would be admitted in four departments of Computer Science and Technology, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, BBA and Mathematics in this session.
