Bangladeshi beaten to death by BSF
The Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) recovered body of a cattle trader who was beaten to death allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) early morning yesterday from Ichhamati River near village Haroddah in Sadar upazila.
The victim was identified as Abdul Kader, 40, son of Nawsher Ali Mullah of village Haroddah in the same upazila.
The BSF men of Soladana camp in Basirhat Police Station in West Bengal arrested Abdul Kader when he was returning home with cattle on Sunday, says a report received here from across the border.
BSF men tortured him to death and threw the body into the bordering Ichhamati River, sources said
Local people found the body floating in the river near Haroddah and informed the BDR.
On contact, Lt Col Shams, commanding officer (CO) 41 Rifles Battalion confirmed the incident.
