Try war criminals, execute Bangabandhu murder verdict
Human chains, rallies held on RU campus and in Chapainawabganj

Amra Muktijoddhar Santan, a platform of freedom fighters' children, yesterday formed human chains and organised rallies at Chapainawabganj town and on Rajshahi University (RU) campus demanding trial of war criminals and immediate execution of the verdict of Bangabandhu murder case. Freedom fighters' children formed a human chain in front of Chapainawabganj Government College in the morning, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent. This was followed by a rally where speakers demanded trial of war criminals for the sake of establishing justice, consolidating democracy and upholding the spirit of liberation war. War criminals and anti-liberation force are involved in a deep-rooted conspiracy against the country and freedom fighters, they said. The Speakers also demanded immediate implementation of the verdict of Bangabandhu murder case. Another human chain was formed in front of the central library of Rajshahi University (RU) under the same banner, reports our RU correspondent. About 100 participants including freedom fighters joined the human chain. They carried various banners and placards with them demanding punishment of war criminals. After the human chain, a rally was held where speakers demanded trial of war criminals. They called upon the newly-installed government of Awami League-led grand alliance to table a bill for trial of war criminals at the first session of Jatiya Sangsad. Speakers reminded the government that people had given their verdict for trial of war criminals. They expressed their determination to continue the agitation until war criminals are tried and punished. Among others, freedom fighters Abul Kalam Azad, Arshed Ali,Amra Muktijoddhar Santan convener Zinnah al-Mamun and its activists Mithu, Nasir-ul-Islam, Sohel, Faruk and Kabir addressed.
