Upazila poll runners vow to curb corruption
Candidates in Rangpur Sadar upazila election yesterday vowed to make the upazila administration corruption free, if elected.
They also pledged to run the upazila parishod administration on the basis opinion of grassroots public representatives and ensure transparency.
Four contestants for the post of upazila chairman and six for the post of vice-chairman took part in the 'meet to the people' programme organised by Transparency International (TIB) and Sushasaner Jonney Nagorik (Sujan).
They include chairmen candidates Mostafizar Rahman, Ataur Zaman Babu, Abdul Gofur and Julfiqar Ali Bhutto; and vice-chairman candidates Dilshad Hosen Mukul, Ratish Chandra Bhoumic, Masud Karim Munna, Monwara Begum, Nasima Zaman and Dulali Begum.
