Pro Awami League bus owners backed by party cadres yesterday forcibly occupied the office of the district Bus Minibus Owners' Association in Natore, which was dominated by pro-BNP bus owners earlier. Witnesses said around 50 pro-Awami League bus owners joined by by some 100 party cadres led by Natore Jubo League president Sariful Islam Ramjan burst into the office at Kanaikhali area in the town at about noon. They asked present leaders of the association, loyal to BNP, to get out of the office. In a moment, the leaders including the association's convenor Zamilur Rahman Kabir left the office and pro-AL leaders entered it. “They went away peacefully after we entered the office and asked them to leave”, confessed Manjur Alam Hasu, one of the leading pro-AL bus owners and former president of the association. However, Hasu told newsmen later that BNP men had been illegally occupying the office for last several years.
