Hill cutter sued in Khagrachhari

Following order from Executive Magistrate Mohammed Zahedur Rahman, Matiranga police yesterday filed a case against Habibur Rahman Selim on charge of hill cutting. Sub Inspector Mohammad Safi of Matiranga Police Station filed the case against Mohammad Habibur Rahman Selim under Building Construction Rule. Police also raided his residence but failed to get him there. Earlier, Executive Magistrate Mohammed Zahedur Rahman visited the spot and ordered Matiranga police to file the case. State Minister for Environment and Forest Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman on Saturday ordered action against hill cutters following a Daily Star report.
