11 local AL leaders expelled from party

Eleven Awami League (AL) leaders of three upazilas were expelled for violating party discipline, party sources said. Pabna district unit AL has expelled them from the party for extending their support to the rival candidates in the upcoming upazila (UZ) elections, they said. Expelled leaders are Md Abdul Kuddus, president of Atghoria upazila unit of AL, Md Abdul Gofur, joint secretary of Atghoria upazila unit of AL, Abdul Gofur, president of Lakhmipur union unit of Atghoria AL, AL leader Quaiyum Sarkar Bablu, secretary of Debottor union unit AL of Itghoria Golam Moula Helal, president of Majpara union unit AL of Atghoria Entaz Ali Khan, secretary of Chandva union unit of AL Atiuzzaman, president of Bera upazila unit of AL SM Amir Ali, organising secretary of Bera upazila unit of AL Amirul Islam Dablu, Sujanagar upazila unit AL leader Ahmed Firoz Kabir and secretary of Manikhat union unit of Sujanagar upazila AL Safiul Islam Safi. Office secretary of Pabna district unit of AL Advocate Abdul Ahad Babu has confirmed their expulsion.
