BCL men beat JCD leader at RU

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists severely beat up a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader on the of Rajshahi University campus on Saturday night. Seriously injured Mir Khaled Ratul, joint convener of Bangabandhu Hall JCD unit, is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. A group of BCL cadres led by Ershad beat up Ratul with iron roads and hockey sticks and left him senseless, said an eyewitness. BCL RU President Ibrahim Hossin Moon said organisational action will be taken against the unruly BCL activists who beat up Ratul. Meanwhile, around one hundred students under the banner of Progressive Students Alliance yesterday morning staged a demonstration on the campus rejecting 22-point action policy.
