US President Barack Obama did not waste a moment after the oath taking ceremony and he got down to work immediately. Faithful to his election pledges he has turned the page of the black chapter of G.W. Bush and started a new one. Obama ordered the closure of Guantanamo Bay prison within a year and banned the practice of torture in terror interrogations.
In the last eight years the image of America has been damaged so much that people around the world stopped looking up to it with reverence but now we think President Obama will be able to restore it because he seems to posses great wisdom, sound judgement, humanity and foresight.
We are waiting to see what steps he will take to bring peace between Palestine and Israel. Palestinians have been suffering for so long, deprived of their land they are living in inhuman condition, devoid of any hope of justice.
We hope and trust that US President Barack Obama will be able to bring peace in that region as he seems to be a person of great capability. May he achieve the goal, end the sufferings of the people of Palestine.
