Captors free two of 8 in Bandarban

The criminals involved in Sunday's abduction of eight indigenous people yesterday freed two of the victims and demanded Tk 2 lakh as ransom for release of six others. The two persons, Mong Koai Ching and Lorens Tripua were set free with a condition that a total Tk 2 lakh will be paid for release of other victims within February 5. Relatives of the kidnapped people were told about the ransom demand as Mong Koai Ching and Lorens Tripua were set free and returned home at 1:00pm on Monday, local source said. Mong Koai Ching said the kidnappers are member of Democratic Party of Arakan and they abducted the eight people in Roangchari for ransom only.
