Abducted boy not rescued in 12 days

A teenage boy, abducted on February 10 from Nurpur village of Barashashi union under Boda upazila in Panchagarh district, could not be rescued as of yesterday, family sources said. Mehedi Hasan,18, son of Fazlul Haque of the aforesaid village, was kidnapped when he reached a culvert near Balapara village in Barashashi union on the way to Bakduljhula Bazaar to buy fertiliser for his brother-in-law Rabiul Hasan, said police and victim's family members. Later, kidnappers demanded Tk 50,000 from the guardians as ransom in exchange of his freedom, family sources said. Boda police said they are trying to rescue the boy.
