The newly elected upazila chairmen and vice-chairmen of Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts will take oath on February 26. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Yunusur Rahman will administer oath to 24 chairmen and 48 vice-chairmen elected from 24 upazilas of the three districts in the conference room of his office, according to our staff correspondent from Khulna. As pre electoral code of conduct, the upazila chairmen must resign from the party he or she belongs to and submit statements of their assets to the respective deputy commissioners before taking oath. “They are to submit their wealth reports by February 23,” said Khulna District Election Officer Md Mujibar Rahman. There are nine upazilas in Khulna, nine in Bagerhat and six in Satkhira district. Awami League has capatured 48 out of 59 posts of Chairman in ten district of Khulna division while BNP, Jamaat and Jatiya Party have won 4, 5 and 2 posts in the recently held upazila elections. SYLHET Our Staff Correspondent from Sylhet adds: Chairmen and vice-chairmen of 12 upazilas under Sylhet district yesterday took oath. Zafar Ahmed, divisional commissioner of Sylhet, administered oath to upazila chairmen and vice-chairmen at a simple ceremony held at zila parishad auditorium. Director of the Local Government Department-Fazlul karim Chowdhury conducted the function. Deputy Commissioner-Sazzadul Hasan and other officials were present.
