Outlaw Hafizur Rahman Mahabbat, who introduced himself as Zobayer Ali during arrest on February 19, disclosed his real name to the police on Sunday. BDR personnel arrested Mahabbat, a close aide to Mrinal alias Thakur Das, chief of banned Biplobi Communist Party, at Bomra under Sadar upazila while he was returning home from India. The outlaw concealed his real name and address from the BDR men and introduced himself as Zobayer Ali, son of Dalil Uddin of Gobindapur village in Koira upazila under Khulna district, sources said. Police sent him to jail on February 19 as Zobayer Ali. But on secret information, the law enforcers interrogated him at Satkhira jail gate on February 22 and came to know his real name and address, sources added. Police yesterday produced him before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court seeking a seven-day remand. Judge Ranu Bilkis Banu will hear the prayer today.
