2 UPDF men abducted

An armed gang on Monday abducted two activists of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) from in front of Kakali Cinema Hall in the district town. The kidnapped UPDF men are Nikhil Tripura and Satya Chakma. In a press release yesterday, the UPDF held the armed cadres of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) responsible for abduction of their activists. Leaders of the anti-peace treaty organisation, in the press release, alleged that PCJSS activists Suvojyoti Chakma, Tuhin, Sajib, Newton, Swapan, Sumit, Pohel and Biswajit are involve in criminal activities like abduction in the district. The urged the authorities concerned to rescue their kidnapped activists.
