At least 36 houses and 34 shops were gutted in separate incidents of fire in two districts on Sunday night. At Velazan village under Thakurgaon Sadar upazil, fire damaged 36 houses belonging to nine families at around 11:30pm. In Pirojpur, at least 34 shops were gutted in a fire at Bhagirathpur Bazar under Mathbaria upazila the same night, according to our Barisal correspondent.
