2 Jubok officials assaulted in Chittagong

Angry clients and field workers of Jubo Karmasangsthan Society (Jubok) yesterday assaulted two of its officials on Chittagong court premises for not refunding their deposited money. The officials were identified as Jubok's Boropole branch project officer Mohammad Kamruzzaman and secretary Nirmal Kanti Shikder. Later, police from Kotwali police station rescued Kamruzzaman from the mob while Nirmal managed to flee. Sources said the officials went to a court to appear in a case in the morning. Minutes after their arrival, the clients and field workers waylaid them. They also assaulted them while going out after appearing in the court. Jubok officials went into hiding a few months ago as they failed to refund the deposited money of the clients and the field workers.
