3 children hurt as abandoned bomb goes off

Three children received serious injuries when an abandoned bomb exploded on the Sadar police station premises at Chapainawabganj town yesterday. The children are Mehedi Hasan,10, son of rickshawpuller Mithu of Dargapara, Al Amin,10, son of ASI Ataur Rahman and Mamun-ur-Rashid,7, son of ASI Rafiqul Islam of Sadar Police Station. Police said the bomb went off in a dustbin at about 12:30 pm when the three children were playing near the spot. The injured were rushed to Chapainawabganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital for treatment.
