Fish looted from govt pond

Armed miscreants allegedly led by two local Awami League (AL) leaders looted fish from a khas (government) pond at village Jorkanon under Sadar Dakkshin upazila early yesterday. Police arrested three people, Liakat Ali, Md Nazrul Islam and Md Alamgir. Police said some miscreants of the area led by AL leaders Mahafuzul Haque and Humayan Kabir held hostage night guards and looted fish worth about Tk 5 lakh from the government pond named Kacharipukur, police said. Later, Assistant Land Officer of Jorkanon Union Abdul Gour Mojumder filed a case with Sadar Dakkshin Police Station.
