Six sued for war crimes in Jhenidah
A case was filed against six people on Wednesday on charge of their involvement in war crimes in 1971.
Freedom fighter Ashir Uddin, son of Dhuki Mondol of Kola under Jhenidah Sadar filed the case.
The accused are Jamaat leader Maulana Moslem Uddin, UP chairman of Halidani union under Sadar upazila, ex-chairman Abdur Rashid, bank employee Abdul Haque, Alauddin, Shahajahan and Hakim Ali Khondakar.
The judge took up the case and ordered the OC of Sadar police station to take necessary steps after primary investigation. The copy of the order was sent to the police station yesterday.
According to the case, the accused called out Ashir Uddin's three brothers-- Azibor Rahman, Habibur Rahman and Ansar Ali-- from their house during 1971 liberation war. Since then all the three went missing. The accused also allegedly torched the houses of the three persons.
