36 sued in Rajshahi, Comilla for '71 killing
Two separate cases were yesterday filed against 36 alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces for killing two freedom fighters in Rajshahi and Comilla in 1971.
In Rajshahi, Majedur Rahman Majnu, son of martyred freedom fighter Moyej Uddin Pramanik of Puthia, filed a case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, Rajshahi, accusing five identified and 25 unidentified people of killing his father in Charghat upazila during Liberation War in 1971, reports our staff correspondent.
The five identified accused are Abdus Samad of Badhua, Moslem Ali of Maria, Abdul Majed of Baduria and Abdus Samad of Maria under Charghat upazila, and Bakkar Ali of Namajgram under Puthia upazila.
The plaintiff in his case mentioned that around 25 unidentified members of Al Shams, Al Badr and razakars were also involved in the murder.
Judge Abu M Amimul Ehsan accepted the case and asked Charghat police to take necessary legal actions after investigation.
The complainant further said the accused picked up his father from their house and killed him in front of Charghat Dakbungalow
Six alleged collaborators (rajakars) of Chouddagram upazila under Comilla district were sued yesterday for killing an organiser of the Liberation War in 1971.
Monwara Begum, wife of martyred freedom fighter Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan, filed the case with the Judicial Magistrate Court no 4, Comilla, according to UNB.
The accused are M Mostafa Molla, 75, Abdullah Mollah, 55, Obaidul Haq Molla, 53, Julfu Molla, Bhanu Molla and Ashraf Molla. Of them,Julfu, Bhanu and Ashraf were killed by the freedom fighters on December 16, 1971.
Judicial Magistrate M Zahiruddin accepted the case and asked the officer in-charge (OC) of Chouddagram Police Station to take necessary legal actions in this regard.
In the case statement, Monwara said the accused along with a group of Pakistani militia picked up Abdus Sattar from their house at Karpati village on June 16, 1971.
The collaborators took Sattar to Belpur village and killed him. Local people later recovered the body and buried it at Karpari Majumder Bari graveyard.
