4 more Shibir men held at Rajshahi

Police continued their raid in Rajshahi, arrested four more Shibir activists and sought help and cooperation of local people and committees for success of the ongoing drive. The arrested shibir activists are Nishat Ahmed, Kawser Islam, Shahinur Rahman and Shahidul Islam. They all are students of Rajshahi University and active members of Shibir-backed cultural organisation 'Fulkuri Ashor'. They were held yesterday in connection with two cases filed by police with Motiher Police Station following Saturday's violence in Binodpur area near RU. In the cases, the law enforcers accused 84 Shibir men of attacking police camp, exploding bombs and hurling stones and bricks at the law enforcers during the violence. Of the accused, police have so far arrested 36. High police officials, including RMP commissioner, yesterday met the leaders of Binodpur Bazar Committee, local ward commissioners and local people at Binodpur Bazar and sought their all-out cooperation in arresting the accused Shibir activists .
