Attack on BDR men in Teknaf, 9 held

The law enforcers have arrested nine miscreants who attacked BDR personnel at Kauk Khali ghat under Teknaf Municipality early Friday. The arrestee are Syed Akbar, 30, Abul Hossain, 22, Mohammad Hossain, 23, Mohammad Idris, 20, Mohammad Rafique, 25, Mohammad Shaker, 26, Foyez Ullah, 23, Rahim Ullah, 34 and Anwar Hossain, 24. BDR sources and witnesses said a gang of miscreants, led by Syed Akbar, tried to loot a huge amount of shrimp imported from Myanmar at Kauk Khali ghat at around 1:30 am on Friday. When the BDR men obstructed, the miscreants swooped on them injuring Nayek Subedar Mohammad Yusuf, jawan Ziaul Haq, businessmen Mamunur Rashid and HM Ershad. Additional BDR troops reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
