The processionists marched the main streets of the town and held a rally in front of Deputy Commissioner's (DC) office. The speakers said, about 1000 homesteads and 400 acres of the villages were devoured by the Jamuna in last one year. They said, at least 200 dwelling houses, two mosques, two madrasas, five educational institutions and 100 acres of cultivable land went into the river in the last 10 days.
