Memo to PM to save rivers

Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD), Moulvibazar district unit, yesterday submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner (DC) urging the government to take steps to protect the rivers of Sylhet region from the impact of Tipaimukh barrage in India. In the memo, BSD expressed the concern that on completion of work of Tipaimukh, Sylhet region may turn into desert. The memo called upon the government to ensure rights of the country under the international river law.
