Habiganj newsmen at a meeting Saturday night demanded immediate arrest and punishment to a local Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader and his cohorts who attacked ATN Bangla Correspondent MA Halim. Habiganj Press Club president Shamim Ahsan chaired the meeting. Sources said, a group of cadres led by Mohibur Rahman Mamun, organising secretary of the district BCL attacked Abdul Halim with iron rod and other lethal weapons on May 9 near the Post Office area. Halim was attacked as he covered some reports against their activities.
