8 more sued for war crime
Eight alleged collaborators of Pakistan occupation forces were sued on Monday on charge of murdering a freedom fighter during liberation war in 1971.
The case was filed with the court of Senior Judicial magistrate Begum Rozina Akther by Shukhjan Begum, wife of slain freedom fighter Mahatab Biswas of village Garhakhola under Dakope upazila.
The complainant stated in her petition that the accused on August 10, 1971 picked up Mahatab from his house and hacked him to death at Garhakhola rajakar camp after physical torture the next day.
The eight accused are Nausher Sheikh, Zahur Sheikh, Mahbub Molla, Hamajuddin, Shafi Gazi, Asmat Gazi, Elahi Sana and Moni Sana. All of them are alive.
The court asked the officer-in-charge of Dakope Police Station to submit a report after investigation into the allegation by July 29.
