2 JMB men held, arms recovered
Police arrested two members of banned Islamist outfit Jama'tul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in two villages of Chapainawabganj on Wednesday and recovered two shooter guns, one revolver and four rounds of bullet.
In Mymensingh, 22 other militants were produced in courts on Tuesday.
The arrestees in Chapainawabganj are Sumon Ali,24, son of Akhtar Hossain of village Shibnagar under Shibganj upazila and Rabiul Islam,22, son of Ruhul Amin of village Mushribhuza under Bholahat upazila, our correspondent says.
Chapainawabganj superintendent of police (SP) Nazrul Hossain said, police during a drive arrested Sumon from his grocery shop in front of his Shibnagar residence and recovered one revolver.
In another drive, Rabiul was held from his house at village Mushribhuja of Bholahat upazila and recovered one shooter gun and four bullets.
Our Correspondent from Mymensingh adds: Twenty-two JMB militants including Fahima Akhtar, wife of executed JMB second-in-command Bangla Bhai were produced in the local courts on Tuesday.
They were taken to courts for hearing and deposition of witnesses in nine cases including bomb blasts in four cinema halls in Mymensingh town, sources said.
However, the hearing and deposition were not held as the witnesses were not present at the court.
