An Awami League (AL) activist was killed in Mirpur upazila yesterday. Police said Sabuj, 27, was killed as a sequel to previous enmity between two factions-one led by Kamrul Arefin, organising secretary of Mirpur upazila AL, while the other by Anwar Hossain, an influential leader of the party. Sabuj of Kamarul group was standing in front of a shop at Sadarpur bazar yesterday when two cadres belonging to rival Anwar group came to the place on a motorbike and shot him dead on the spot. In Khoksa, police recovered the body of farmer Hossain Khan from a jute filed near his house yesterday at about 12:00 pm. Police said Hossain came out his home at about 7:30pm on Wednesday after a feud with his brothers over land property and since then he was missing.
