Ansar member files counter case

An Ansar member has filed a counter case against eight and many other unnamed people of Puratan Satkhira in the town accusing them of beating up Ansar members and creating obstacles to discharging their duties. Rafiqul Hasan, complainant of the case filed against the Ansar men on June 22, Anowar Hossain Chandu, Manirul Islam, Alamgir Hossain, Sheikh Firoj Ahmed, Mintu, Chanchal, Rafique Bhuiya besides many other unnamed people were sued by Shah Jalal of 27 Ansar Battalion. Shah Jalal, also an accused in a case filed by Rafiqul Hasan, filed the counter case with Sadar Police Station on Tuesday night. He alleged that a group of villagers led by the eight named accused attacked the Ansar members to grab a portion of land under 27 Ansar Battalion headquarters on June 21. They beat up the on-duty Ansar members who tried to resist, the complainant added. Earlier on Monday, Rafiqul Hasan, filed a case with Sadar Police Station against five members of 27 Ansar Battalion including acting Commanding Officer Nurul Afsar Chowdhury and 40 other unnamed Ansar men on charge of beating up locals the day before. Rafiqul said Ansar men beat him up severely as he protested their atrocities on people including women and children. On contact, Rafiqul Hasan said, “The Ansar member's case is false and motivated. He filed the false case to get rid of the case earlier filed by me.”
