Torture victim sues 38 JMB operatives

Amir Ali, a JMB torture victim last week lodged a case against 38 JMB militants in Rajshahi. The complainant, hailing from village Maddha Jhina lodged the case with the third court of judicial magistrate which ordered police for immediate legal action. The accused include JMB 'advisers' Lutfar Rahman, Abdus Sattar and Mahtab Khamaru and cadres Mostafizur Rahman, Mamunur Rashid, Morshed and Enamul Haque. According to the case, armed JMB cadres abducted Amir Ali on April 7, 2004 and looted his house. They took him to Hamirkutsa camp and tortured him overnight and demanded Tk 1 lakh for his release. Although Amir paid Tk 35,000, he was tortured and mimed by the JMB operatives.
