20 injured in clash, houses vandalised

Twenty people, including a sub-inspector of police, were injured in a clash at Hatgopalpur Bazar on Tuesday. During the clash at least a dozen houses were vandalised. Jhenidah police said, two rival villagers had an altercation on Sunday over a triffle issue of jackfruit sale at Hatgopalpur Bazar. The next day people of Sayal village attacked the market and vandalised two shops leading to a series of clashes till midnight. On Tuesday morning a fresh clash started between the shopkeepers of Hatgopalpur Bazar and the Sayal villagers. The villagers vandalised 12 houses and during the clash 20 people including a SI were injured. The injured were admitted to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital and other clinics.
