Shop owners demand lifting of time restriction in Ramadan
Leaders of Bangladesh Shop Owners Association yesterday said they will not accept any time frame to keep their shops shut during the upcoming Ramadan.
In their yearly conference held at Jamuna Resort in Tangail on Saturday, the central leaders and district representatives of the association said they have been incurring huge losses to comply with the government rule for keeping their shops shut within 8:00pm.
They demanded a new time frame to keep their shops open till 10:00pm.
Bangladesh Shop Owners Association President Mohammad Amir Hossain presided over the conference while Senior Vice President Mohammad Aktaruzzaman, Secretary General MA Kader Kiron, vice presidents Haji Mokhlesur Rahman Khan, Mohammad Mohsin Gazi and Khandakar Ashrafuzzaman, cashier Motahar Hossain Mukta, Organising Secretary Shah Alam Khandakar and Joint Secretary SM Mahbubul Islam Tuku addressed, among others.
Presidents and general secretaries of district units of the association joined the conference and raised various demands related to their interest.
