2 militants sent to TFI for quizzing

Montaz Ali alias Momtaz, a charge sheeted activist of banned Islamist outft Jama'atul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) and Mohaddes Obaidullah, a close aid to detained Lashkar-e- Taieba (LeT) leader Indian national Mufti Obaidullah were sent to the Taskforce Intelligence Cell (TFI) in the capital Tuesday night for quizzing. Earlier, police produced them on Tuesday before the chief judicial magistrate's court after a 10-day remand. Montaz, 40, son of Fazar Ali of village Kharibila in the town is a charge sheeted accused in six serial blasts cases filed on August 17, 2005 and Mohaddes Obaidullah, son of Abdus Sattar Gazi of village Haripur in Shyamnagar upazila is an activist of Lashkar. A DB police team recently raided a shrimp enclosure at village Sarulia and arrested Montaz from the enclosure where he was hiding in the guise of a worker. DB police arrested Mohaddes Obaidullah from Itagachha area in the town on July 22. A police team led by sub-inspector (SI) Abdus Sabur of Sadar police station on Tuesday took them to Dhaka for interrogation at the TFI.
