Two 2-year-olds drown in Mymensingh

Two children drowned this morning in a water‑filled pit at Gopaldarikhel village in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh.

The deceased were identified as Oli Ahmed, son of Md Babul Mia, and Ruby Akter, daughter of Md Rusel Mia. Both were two years old and cousins.

According to Md Tanvir Ahmed, officer‑in‑charge of Tarakanda Police Station, the children were playing together around 10:00am near their houses when they fell into a pit filled with water beside a tube well. Family members searched frantically before eventually recovering their bodies.

The OC confirmed that an unnatural death case was lodged with the police station.
