Two students killed in Chattogram road crash

Two students were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram last night.

The deceased were identified as Abu Sufian Arman, 17, son of Md Kamal Bhandari of Abid Para under Ward-3 of South Rajanagar Union, and Md Akib, 16, son of Osman Gani of Haji Bari in Alamshah Para under Ward-7 of the same union.

Arman and Akib were class nine students of Dhamairhat Hazrat Shah Sufi Saleh Ahmed Sunnia Madrasa and Rajabhuban High School respectively.

According to police, the motorcycle carrying the two students collided head-on with a bus around 9:00pm in the Taktar Pul area on the Chattogram–Kaptai road, leaving both critically injured.

Officer-in-Charge of Rangunia Model Police Station Md Arman Hossain said Arman died on the spot and his body was recovered and kept at the police station.

Akib was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment, the OC said.
