Bodies of 2 college students recovered from Padma

Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel recovered the bodies of two college students from the Padma in Rajshahi yesterday after they went missing in the river a day before.

The dead are Sarwar Saim, 17, and Riyat Khandaker Ghalib, 17, said officials of Rajshahi fire department.

Wahedul Islam, deputy director of Rajshahi's Fire Service and Civil Defence, said Sarwar's body was spotted by local boatmen in the river at Sreerampur T-Band area.

On information, divers later recovered the body around 6:00am.

Meanwhile, Riyat's body was found lying on the river bed, some 20 yards away from the spot from where they went missing, said Abdur Rouf, senior station officer of Rajshahi's Fire Service and Civil Defence.
