Rohingya man beaten to death in Ukhiya camp

Police yesterday recovered the body of a Rohingya man with his hands and feet tied from a refugee camp in Ukhiya upazila, Cox's Bazar.

The body was recovered from Block H/59 of Balukhali Camp-18 in Palongkhali union at 7:00am, said Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station.

The deceased was identified as Ashiq Elahi, 23, of Block C/7 of Balukhali Camp-11.

Quoting the family members, the OC said unidentified miscreants picked up Ashiq on Sunday evening and beat him to death over previous enmity.

The body was sent to Cox's Bazar General Hospital for autopsy, he said.
