Woman found dead in Habiganj hotel

A woman was found dead at a residential hotel in Habiganj late last night.

The victim identified as Farida Begum, 45, wife of Abdal Mia, was a resident of Alapur village of Bahubal upazila, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent quoting police.

According to police, when Abdal took the woman to Habiganj 250-bed District Sadar Hospital at night, the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Later, Abdal was detained and taken to the police station for questioning.

Golam Mortuza, officer-in-charge of Habiganj Police Station, said the manager of Reza Hotel was also taken to the police station for questioning. The investigation is still ongoing.
