July Charter signing ceremony held
The signing ceremony of the July Charter started at 4:30pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament with the national anthem.
Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus attended the ceremony, and the signing was held in his presence. He entered the ceremony with a parade by BNCC and Rover Scouts.
Special Assistant (Consensus Building) to CA, Monir Haidar, commenced the ceremony. Vice President of the National Consensus Commission Prof Ali Riaz delivered the introductory speech.
Two representatives from each political party took their seats at the stage alongside the chief adviser and members of the National Consensus Commission. They started signing the July Charter along with the head of the National Consensus Commission and its members at 5:05pm.
Dr Yunus, chief of the Consensus Commission, signed the charter at 5:07pm.
Following the signing, Dr Yunus addressed the ceremony.
Leaders from various political parties also attended the event.
However, representatives of the National Citizen Party and four left-leaning parties did not attend the event.
