Ducsu polls: JCD GS Nasir voices concern over some teachers’ role
Nasir Uddin, general secretary of the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), expressed concern over the remarks of some teachers regarding the ongoing Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election.
He told reporters this morning in Dhaka University that the polls are drawing strong interest from students.
"I think the Ducsu polls scenario is an introduction for Bangladeshi people that they are interested to vote. Many voters have already cast their votes, and the number of voters will increase as the day goes. Everything is going peacefully," Nasir said.
He added that the only incident he noticed was that some teachers were "working for Jamaat Shibir-backed candidates".
"What Shibir-backed VP candidate Shadik (Kayem) claimed, the same was echoed by a teacher in this centre," he said.
Voting is underway from 8:00am in the Ducsu polls, and students continue to flock to different polling centres across the university.
