Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) Election Commission Member Secretary Professor Dr AKM Rashidul Alam has attributed the delay in vote counting to the inexperience of officials and the complexity of the process.

"We have not seen this kind of election at Jahangirnagar University in the last 33 years. We also don't have much experience. To make sure there is no mistake or confusion, we are carefully checking every single ballot," he told reporters today at the Senate Building.

Rashidul Alam said that every ballot is being checked manually and records are being maintained.

"It has taken a little more time, but we have records of everything. Based on those records, I can say the results are accurate," he said.

He added that in the central parliament election alone, there were 25 posts contested by 179 candidates.

The member secretary further explained that both central and hall parliament ballots are being counted in the presence of polling agents.
