Billboards a perfect nuisance
Billboards are mushrooming causing serious problems but nobody seems bothered. They obscure the open blue sky and the greenery depriving us of seeing the beauty of nature. Many of the billboards are erected on flimsy structure which can cause accident any time.
The High Court has directed the DCC and Rajuk to remove the illegal hoardings from Dhaka Metropolitan area. But who cares? The city corporation and Rajuk always give the same lame excuse of not having enough manpower to remove these billboards. May I suggest that the relevant authorities seek the support of our law enforcing agencies such as RAB and BGB to accomplish the work? I am sure this can be achieved in a week. All that is needed is strong enforcement of the law.
